Women’s National Team midfielder brings us back to her days growing up in Virginia Beach and how she developed her love for the game.

Anyone who has gone through the trophy hall at University of Virginia knows the name of Angela Hucles. It took 15 years for someone to come along and break a few of her all-time scoring records. Angela’s journey into pro soccer began as a member of the first-ever Boston Breakers team and in fact, scored the first goal in the history of the Breakers (in 2001 a preseason exhibition match against Duke Blue Devils).

As a member of the USWNT, Angela was a player known for her ability to come off the bench in pivotal moments and strike an impactful pose. In 2008, Angela finished the Olympic campaign tied with the most goals of the tournament and a gold medal around her neck.

Her impact on the game didn’t end there. Angela has spent her post-soccer career giving a voice to those in desperate need of one. Angela is the current president of Women’s Sports Foundation; She has worked with the U.S. State Department and You Can Play organization to help empower LGBT youth through sport; and she founded Empowerment Through Sport Leadership Series, a unique conference featuring speakers and programs dedicated to teaching leadership and healthy living on and off the pitch.

Jovanna Damjanovic

The former FAWSL Manager of the Year talks about his entry into the NWSL, his first college draft experience, and the challenges facing his team and himself in 2016.

Mark Parsons has shown that he can take an NWSL team into the playoffs and he’s hoping to do the same for his new team in Portland. The former Chelsea Ladies gaffer gives insight on the psychology of coaching and what he hopes to achieve in the Rose City. Parsons shares his thoughts on the Portland fans, the city and many of his new players.

Nadia Nadim
Michelle Stile is in Portland for Orlando Pride’s inaugural match against the Thorns FC,where she catches up with striker Nadia Nadim. Nadia takes us along on an inspirational trek from her beginnings in Afghanistan to her journey to Portland. The Danish international has easily become the most dangerous striker in women’s football today. What drew her to the medical profession, what is her new role in Portland, and what is the story behind her trademark headband? Dr. Nadim is in the house!

England vs. Belgium
Adam traveled over to Rotherham for England vs. Belgium in the Group stage of the UEFA qualifiers. The match ended in a dramatic draw, with England midfielder Jill Scott getting the equalizer. We hear from the Lioness as she gives her thoughts on the game, the team and the future of England squad. Diana has taken her soccer talents around the world, playing club soccer in Spain and most recently won the Aphrodite Women’s Cup 2016 with Israel. Not only making a name for herself on the pitch, Diana is changing lives off the pitch as well by counselling other athletes who have fallen down similar paths of substance addiction. Adam and Barry the Beaver barged into two FAWSL matches over the past few weeks. Game 1 was Doncaster vs. Chelsea, for the FAWSL’s first-week matchup. Adam sits down with the versatile striker as she prepares to make her debut with her new team – Doncaster Belles. As one of the biggest moves of this off-season, Natasha gives us insight on why she chose the Belles over other teams and what we can expect to see from her in 2016.

After three successful seasons with Liverpool Ladies, Natasha discusses her former team and their very dramatic FAWSL back-to-back championships. Natasha also gives us her thoughts on playing in the Australia’s Westfield W-League and why Melbourne Victory has not seen the last of her.

The ninth season of the W-League has wrapped up! But not before giving us an entertaining Grand Final (what’s this about rock, paper scissors?). TV star and reporter for The Women’s Game, Cheryl Downes was in Melbourne taking notes and names and she’s here to give us every play-by-play detail. Women’s World Football Show is ushering in the next generation of women’s footballers and who better to spotlight than one of the rising stars in the game today, USA’s Lindsey Horan!

As a football prodigy growing up in Colorado, Lindsey was playing forward with the Colorado Rush as a a mere tween. By the time she graduated high school, Lindsey was already making a name for herself with Paris Saint-Germain FC in the French league. We talk to this powerful goal-scorer about some of her more “unconventional” life decisions and find out what it really takes to follow your own path when everyone else keeps pointing you in another direction.

An impact player in the USWNT junior squads since she was a kid, Lindsey’s fans have been chomping at the bit for her to make her grand arrival up to the senior squad and she’s doing it in grand fashion. Coming off spectacular showings in the USA Victory Tour, the young star is undaunted by the attention and laser-focused on what she needs to do to get to the next level as she eyes the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

NWSL fans cannot wait to catch this talented footballer play for Portland Thorns FC in 2016, where she will meet up with her former PSG teammate Tobin Heath and new USWNT teammate Emily Sonnett. It’s a new-look Thorns team and Lindsey plans on bringing a big presence and an NWSL championship back to the Rose City.

USA vs. Republic of Ireland
The USWNT broke January camp with a victory over Ireland at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. Patty, AJ, and The Cowgirl were on hand to get a few interviews and soundbites. We hear from FIFA Female Coach of the Year Jill Ellis as she talks about her young team, the road to the Olympics, and Ireland defender Megan Campbell’s wicked throw-in. Alex Morgan also weighs in on the team’s new kids, the Road to Rio (and also on Campbell’s throw-in). Also we hear from the newest and youngest player on the team, 17-year old Mallory Pugh, who scored in her very first cap (nice thing to do before having to go back to high school on Monday). What has she learned since coming up to the senior squad and which veteran has given her the ultimate advice? She tells us that and more!

Nigeria
Adam visits with Nigeria sports journalist Janine Anthony. In this in-depth look at women’s football in the African contentment, Janine updates us on the triumphs and challenges of the Nigerian national team and let’s us in on why the club system is so important to the growth of the Super Falcons. Also, Janine gives her thoughts on the other great African teams – Cameroon, South Africa, Guyana, and Ivory Coast.
