Women’s World Football Show, Episode 186 features an exclusive interview with Jamaica Women’s National Team defender Lauren Silver

Jamaica Women’s National Team defender, business owner, entrepreneur, and success coach Lauren Silver shares her life story in this inspiring hour-long conversation. From her days at University of Florida to traveling the world playing soccer for club and country, the Florida native gives us an inside look at how she battled burn out, fought her national team federation with the No Pay No Play initiative, and on-going quest to become a better version of herself.

In 2019, the Reggae Girlz lit the soccer world on fire with their gritty play on the pitch and their courage to face the Jamaica Football Federation. At the helm was their tiny defender who took to social media to call out the JFF and then took action to help prepare the team for the biggest stage in the world. Lauren isn’t waiting around for opportunities to come, she’s creating her own with the same fortitude it took to stand up to a federation. And she’s bringing us with her!

It’s a new year and a new day for women’s football, and what better way to head into the year than to hear from some of our favorite USWNT players we haven’t seen in awhile (and one we’re just getting to know)

USWNT Players

The US Women’s National Team is preparing for a busy year with the SheBelieves Tournament in February and a full slate of NWSL matches in the year ahead. The team got together for two friendlies against Colombia recently and conducted a few virtual press conferences – just in time to ease our stress levels a bit.

In this episode, we hear from Megan Rapinoe in one of the more entertaining pressers – as she shares her thoughts on the political climate in the USA, the evolution of the National Anthem protest, her thoughts on her teammates who do not kneel, and much more! (11′)

There’s a star in the making on the USWNT, and her name is Catarina Macario! We listen in as the young striker tells us why she decided to leave Stanford a year early to pursue her professional career in France, what it means to be a new American at this time, how it feels to play with her childhood heroes, and so much more! (58′)

Plus, we take a look at the upcoming calendar for the NWSL season; Managerial changes for a few international teams; FA Women’s Continental League Cup scores, and more!
