Jenna McCormick
Hailing from South Australia, Jenna McCormick made her national team debut in 2019 against a set of friendlies against Chile. She then made the Olympic qualifiers and on her way to Tokyo! But the journey to fulfilling a dream isn’t without it’s twists and turns. Jenna shares her experiences as a well-traveled player within the W-League and in foreign leagues throughout the world, including a challenging one in Spain.

Jenna also shares insights on her recent injury at Melbourne City and how she has dealt with seeking help to deal with the immense mental pressures the game deals even the strongest players. The embodiment of a footballer, Jenna allows us into her life and makes us proud to be fans of the women’s game! This is a Must Listen to interview! (7′)

Episode 154: Jordan DiBiasi, Beattie Goad, Christen Press

Women’s World Football Show, Episode 154 features exclusive interviews with Washington Spirit Midfielder Jordan DiBiasi; Stanford University Midfielder Beattie Goad; and Soundbites from USWNT Strikers Christen Press and Rose Lavelle.

Only the top high school athletes make it to the level of playing women’s college soccer. During the 2016-2017 school year, there were about 38,873 women playing collegiate soccer and of these college players, 1,155 were international recruits.

How has playing collegiate soccer helped prepare players for the professional ranks, and more than that, how does it bring out the best in these young women and shape their futures as world changers? In this episode, we talk with one of the brightest young stars in the NWSL – in her first pro season after a stellar college career at Stanford, Washington Spirit midfielder Jordan Dibiasi.

Also, Stanford defender from Australia, Beattie Goad. We’ll also hear from one of the most famous Stanford players of all time – Christen Press; and a cameo by Washington Spirit forward Rose Lavelle.

Jordan shares how she’s handled being drafted 3rd overall by the Washington Spirit in the 2019 NWSL College Draft and the challenges that come with that – all with a positive attitude! Beattie Goad

All the way from Melbourne, Australia, Beattie Goad is making a name for herself as a standout footballer at Stanford University. A combination of brains and brawn, Beattie has been working hard at expanding her horizons at Stanford, forging friendships and interests away from just school and soccer.

A two-time W-League champion and NCAA Women’s National Champion, Beattie give us insight on what it takes to balance playing football at a highest level while Majoring in Human Biology with a minor in medical anthropology. Jodie Taylor

To say Jodie Taylor is a well-traveled player is an understatement. Beginning her club career with Tranmere Rovers as a youth, Jodie ventured from her home at 18 to play college football at Oregon State University. It was a hard time leaving her urban home to a remote town in the USA, but it was the start of a unique road that would lead all the way to the National Team. Jodie generously takes on her football journey with honesty, humor, and foresight.

Jodie didn’t follow the conventional path we see in most players at this level. In fact, you could say Jodie Taylor paved her own path to become one of the top players in the world and a true role model for young people to follow. This interview breaks down the mystery that is Jodie Taylor! (10′)

Jill Ellis

Jill Ellis, who led the U.S. Women’s National Team to historic back-to-back FIFA Women’s World Cup titles in Canada (2015) and France (2019), will step down as head coach following the completion of the Victory Tour in early October, 2019. Listen in as the coach tells us what she hopes her legacy will be and what her future holds. (41′)

Plus, what’s changed for Lisa since we last saw her? If you are any kind of women’s footie fan, you do not want to miss this exclusive with one of the biggest names in the game!

England vs. Estonia
Danielle Carter makes it two hat-tricks in two international appearances as England thrash Estonia 5-0 to go top of their Euro 2017 qualifying group. Our own Adam Barlow was on the scene and brings us a full report, plus interviews with Danielle Carter and Estonia manager Keith Boanas.

USA Friendlies
The USA women played two friendlies in September, first against Thailand in Ohio and then, they met the Netherlands in Georgia. There’s a wave of young blood pulsing through this team and our correspondent Michelle Stile was on hand at the Georgia Dome to talk a couple young bloods, Lindsey Horan and Morgan Brian!

The National Women’s Soccer League post-season is set and Patty brings us up to speed on all the details. Plus we take a look at the last days of the 2016 regular season and hear from superstar striker Alex Morgan!

As the Euro 2017 qualifying competition comes to a close we take a look at one of the smaller countries to take part. Malta may be a small nation but this won’t stop them from developing woman’s football in the region. Maltese Journalist Ginaluca Lia is following the women’s game closely in his country and updates us on the domestic league, the National Team and the challenges the game faces on a whole. W-League Grand Final
The ninth season of the W-League has wrapped up! But not before giving us an entertaining Grand Final (what’s this about rock, paper scissors?). TV star and reporter for The Women’s Game, Cheryl Downes was in Melbourne taking notes and names and she’s here to give us every play-by-play detail. Plus, Cheryl gives us her assessment on the season and also some insight on who we can expect to see back next year and who played their last match!
