Carolina Morace’s career achievements are simply staggering. A pioneering superstar of Italian women’s football, Carolina scored 105 goals in a 153-match international career, and hit the back of the net over 500 times in over 20 years as a professional footballer.

Adam sits down with the Italy legend to discuss her long career on the Italian Women’s National Team. While most footballers were just learning the game, Carolina was starting for the national team at 14 years old, eventually earning the captain’s armband for most of her career. At the club level, Carolina continued her dominance, having claimed Italy’s Capocannoniere (top scorer) on 12 occasions.

There’s a new star heading to Chicago and her name is Indigo Gibson. Join us as we introduce the young defender from University of California, Berkeley to NWSL fans. Indigo Helped the Cal defense concede the fewest goals (9) in the Pac-12 and was selected as a MAC Hermann Semifinalist (the first Cal player to be honored as a semifinalist since Alex Morgan). A First-Team All-Pac-12 selection in 2017, Gibson played every minute in the regular season, helping the Golden Bears to a 13-6-1 record.

Selected 18th overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft by Rory Dames, Indigo will help bring leadership and consistency to the backline of the Chicago Red Stars, especially as some of the veterans leave for national team duty. The 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Best Young Player Award recipient shares with us her changing role in Canada and how she’s preparing to be more of a leader on the team. Adam catches up with former University of Pittsburgh standout Jaclyn Poucel. After her senior season, Jaclyn found herself on the list for eligible players for the 2015 NWSL college draft. But with a deep crop of draftees, the tall center-back went undrafted. But that didn’t diminish her dreams of playing professional soccer !

In this spirited interview, the 5-foot-9 defender shares with us her journey to Finland and Iceland, as well as her experience playing for the Boston Breakers Reserves. Learning the love of the game from her mom, Jaclyn takes us through her childhood, her experiences as a young recruit, and her thoughts on the differing aspects of the women’s game here and abroad.
