There’s a new star heading to Chicago and her name is Indigo Gibson. Join us as we introduce the young defender from University of California, Berkeley to NWSL fans. Indigo Helped the Cal defense concede the fewest goals (9) in the Pac-12 and was selected as a MAC Hermann Semifinalist (the first Cal player to be honored as a semifinalist since Alex Morgan). A First-Team All-Pac-12 selection in 2017, Gibson played every minute in the regular season, helping the Golden Bears to a 13-6-1 record.

Selected 18th overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft by Rory Dames, Indigo will help bring leadership and consistency to the backline of the Chicago Red Stars, especially as some of the veterans leave for national team duty. Boston Breakers

The Breakers were founded in 2000 and were part of NWSL predecessor leagues the WUSA and WPS, and is the first NWSL team to fold since the league was established in 2013. USA vs Denmark
The U.S. Women’s National Team kicked off its 2018 campaign with a somewhat come-from-behind 5-1 win against EURO Women’s runner-up Denmark in front of 17,526 fans at SDCCU Stadium January 21, 2018. There’s a new head coach in Houston and she goes by the name of Vera Pauw! The celebrated head coach gives us deep insight on how she signed with Houston, and why now? Never one to shy away from a challenge, Vera shares her journey to Houston; her assessment of the players and some of the things she’s doing right now to help turn the Dash around in 2018.

After bringing the South Africa National Team to the Rio Olympics in 2016 and changing a few lives along the way, Coach Pauw decided it was time to turn the team over to the coaches she helped train. But with Dash midfielder and Banyana-Banyana captain Janine Van Wyk, along with friend Anson Dorrance urging her to come to Texas, it was hard to turn away from this next challenging opportunity. As always, Coach Pauw is candid, forthright and funny, so catch this very special WWFShow interview! (7:30’)

Sports journalist from FanSided and former Div 1 women’s soccer player Celia Balf  stops by to chat about the 2017 NCAA Div l College Cup Final and the 2017 women’s soccer season. Emma also shares with us her thoughts on women’s football in New Zealand and why it’s important for stars to promote the game within the community.

As the NWL grows and the quality of the game improves, the players coming out of the league are rising as well. Emma shares her experience with watching a few of the NWL players who have gone on to play with the Football Ferns. She also shares why the league’s improvement is setting the stage for the national team’s emergence on the world stage.
